Get involved
RIDI exists to create disability confident recruiters by raising awareness and removing barriers in order to help reduce the UK disability employment gap. But how can you get involved?
The Disability Employment Gap
There is a gap between the number of disabled people and non-disabled people currently in employment in the UK. This is known as the disability employment gap.

Success Stories
We believe it’s important to share best practise and learn from each other to help the whole recruitment industry become truly disability confident.
Become a RIDI Partner
We have one purpose: to break down the barriers facing disabled people in the recruitment industry. We do this by empowering recruiters and employers by giving you the tools you need to make a difference and become disability confident. When we launched in 2011, we set out to transform recruitment and level the playing field for disabled people.
Our aim then, as it still is now, is to work with the industry, not against it. We strive to inspire, educate and empower.
We champion best practice and celebrate the real progress being made through a programme of learning, events and our awards. There is a disability employment gap of over two million people. Our government has pledged to halve the gap, but they cannot do this without the recruitment industry embracing change.
We know that we all need to work together to create a million opportunities for disabled people, and invite you to become one of our partners or sponsors. Your support as a partner or event sponsor will allow RIDI to improve life chances and employment outcomes for disabled people.
For more information on becoming a partner, please download our brochure or contact us.
Our Partners and Sponsors
RIDI and the RIDI Awards are not possible without the ongoing commitment and generosity of our partners and event sponsors.
If your organisation would like to become a partner please download our sponsor pack or contact us to talk about the details.
The RIDI Awards
If you’re involved in the Recruitment Industry Disability Initiative (RIDI) you know that actions really do speak louder than words.
You’re already part of a unique initiative to drive change in recruitment and remove the barriers faced by the millions of disabled people who are entering or progressing through the job market. What you do matters to millions of people! Our joint initiative started in 2011. We regularly come together to celebrate progress on disability in recruitment at our spectacular awards ceremony.
