RIDI Awards 2021: Disability Specialist category roundtable
Our third RIDI Awards category roundtable highlights the Disability Specialist category and our current winners, Diversity & Ability. Since this category was introduced to the Awards in 2018, Clarity & Co. and Pluss have won the Award, and with some strong competition this year from EmployAbility, Mentoring Circles, Ambitious about Autism and Café Leep. Jane Hatton, Chair of RIDI Awards Judges and CEO, Evenbreak was joined by Adam Hyland and Atif Choudhury of Diversity & Ability and their client Helen Kyne from Utilita.
The Disability Specialist category celebrates organisations that specialise in making the workplace more disability confident as part of specialist programmes with employers and recruiters. Both Adam and Atif shared how Diversity & Ability’s approach is firmly centred around the lived experience of disabled people and creating an inclusive workplace culture is as important as ensuring your buildings and facilities are accessible. Helen shared some of the key highlights of the work Diversity & Ability delivered for Utilita, in particular the impact of the training and a 2-year disability confident plan for the whole business.
