RIDI Announces new appointment to the Executive Team

The Recruitment Industry Disability Initiative (RIDI) the leading organisation of Disability Recruitment in the UK is delighted to welcome Pauline Miller, Head of Culture at Lloyd’s of London to it’s Executive Team.

Building on Lloyd’s established and proactive relationship with RIDI, Pauline brings a wealth of inclusion experience to the RIDI Executive and manages this alongside her input to the D&I Engagement team and Responsible Business team at Lloyd’s.

Commenting on her role Pauline highlighted that “Lloyd’s are very proud of our partnership with RIDI and the recent progress that has been made in Disability Recruitment.  Following the huge changes to working patterns throughout the pandemic I look forward to working closely with the team at RIDI to push the dial in this important sector.”

In other changes to the Executive team, Melanie Forbes is now Managing Director at APSCo OutSource, a new and first ever trade body for the outsourcing sector dedicated to supporting recruitment leaders in setting best practice and standards across the outsourcing sector.

RIDI is a voluntary not-for-profit organisation and has been consistently influencing change through its work with in-house recruiters and recruitment businesses.  The team’s ability to connect with and influence government departments and major private sector organisations has seen them develop a sustainable partnership model enabling it to be self-funding while making a valuable contribution to the working lives of disabled people. One that has received the support of government ministers and the DWP.  2020 saw ground breaking research examining the barriers to employment faced by disabled graduates as well as the hugely successful RIDI awards that had an unprecedented volume of entries from businesses such as Primark, Channel 4, Heathrow, Essex County Council with Capita Resourcing and Diversity & Ability.

Kate Headley, RIDI Chair commented “In what continues to be an exceptionally challenging environment for businesses the team at RIDI are encouraged to see that progress continues to be made.  There is still much more to do and 2021 is a real opportunity to keep momentum and ensure that lessons are learned from the emergency working practices of the pandemic with Disability Confident recruitment and talent management a clear indication of socially responsible businesses.”
